What does Christmas mean to you?

Quick Links

For many, Christmas means time with family, opening presents, enjoying the turkey dinner, pulling crackers, Die Hard on the TV and much more; it’s a time for reliving old traditions and creating new memories. For others, Christmas can carry a darker meaning; the rekindling of old family grudges, the increasing burden of shopping in a time of increasing costs, or simply another reminder of your loneliness or of those you have loved and lost. For some, Christmas feels little different to any other time of the year.
The first Christmas story speaks to all of these different emotions and experiences. The baby in the manger is good news for those who love Christmas, those who hate it, and those who aren’t bothered by it.
The Bible describes this baby, the Lord Jesus Christ, as God’s ‘indescribable gift’ (2 Corinthians 9:15), the present from above that makes anything else look like ‘garbage’ in comparison (Philippians 3:8). Why? Because Jesus is everything we’ve been looking for, whether we realized it or not.
He is born into poverty, laid as a baby into an animal’s feeding trough to sleep, nailed to a cross to die as an adult, and raised from the dead on the third day – all for us. To offer love for the unlovable, freedom for the captive, rest for the weary, connection for the isolated, and truth for the confused. We’d love you to join us this Christmas at any of our services to explore what Christmas means for us and for you.
